Own a piece of history

We all know that discussions of Vancouver’s history pale in comparison with some of the great places of the world. What other city would put a plaque on a house once owned by Jimi Hendrix’s grandparents, for crying out loud? But we are not completely devoid of culture. The West End has a few architectural gems that are approaching 100 years old. The Queen Charlotte Apartments is one, and realtor Craig Rushton recently listed a two-bedroom suite for sale, a rarity in this neighbourhood. The building has an impressive two storey entrance, art deco finishings, and the original bird cage elevator, among other charms.
