Up in the air

September 30, 2012

My friend Rick Willoughby of Airframe Productions recently invested in a state of the art UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) from Canadian-based Draganfly Innovations. The four-blade helicopter carries a Sony camera capable of taking high quality stills as well as HD video, putting inexpensive aerial photography within reach of engineers, builders, and realtors. Here are a couple of samples of Rick’s work for my clients Sandman Hotels and Shannon Station.

BC Home and Garden Magazine

The September issue of BC Home and Garden is running a story that I shot back in May. It’s always fun to see your work (and your name) in print.

The people at Sandman like Prince George so much they built two hotels up there, and then asked me to shoot them. Both. Top to bottom. Two days. And to add to the fun, throw in perfect, cloudless days with sunlight blazing in every window all day long.

So off I went, armed only with a couple of flashes and my faith in the healing power of Photoshop. Thanks to the hospitality and assistance of the Sandman staff I completed my assignment and returned home safe and sound.

It would be hard to get any work done at this desk. You could spend all day watching the world go by. Find out more about this Yaletown condo by visiting Robert Crowe’s website.
