Autowest Infiniti

July 28, 2011

Here are a few daytime shots of the Autowest Infiniti dealership. Sure makes a difference when the weather cooperates!

The folks at Richmond’s Autowest Group wanted some new images of their BMW and Infiniti showrooms for their website. Hey, right up my alley. Had to make two trips, though. They wanted daytime and twilight shots, and both places faced east, so the sunny photos had to be done in the morning, the twilight shots at, well twilight. I got a chance to slip a couple of humans into a few of the shots, which I don’t always get to do. I’ll be back in a few days to shoot some video for them as well. Looking forward to that. In the meantime, here are a few of the finished images of the BMW facility.

More For Your Money

As you travel east out of the city, your purchasing power for real estate can grow quite remarkably. Look at this house in Pitt Meadows: beautifully designed and built, with almost 2500 square feet of living space, 18 foot ceilings, 4 bedrooms and a view of Golden Ears. All for well under $600,000. St. Geneve

July 24, 2011

Who says we don’t manufacture products in Vancouver? Richmond-based St. Geneve is one of the world’s leading designers and producers of luxury beddng. I recently spent a couple of days photographing a number of their products in their warehouse. We had four model beds set up, and two teams of designers and stagers working on the sets as we shot them. Each session took almost an hour, as pillows had to be perfectly fluffed and folds in the fabric had to be just right before we could set up the lights and take some shots. We reviewed each image on a laptop before moving on to the next set. All in all, we photographed 16 sets in a little over a day. We really enjoyed working with the St. Geneve staff and look forward to future shoots as their product lines change and evolve.

South Granville

This stunning home was beautifully renovated in heritage style, then staged by Dekora before I got there to record the efforts for posterity. The sunlight from daytime shots often tends to overwhelm the interior lighting, so we held the photo session at dusk, my favourite time of day to shoot.

Less Is More

This Coquitlam home is all about understatement: it has a huge open plan living area, with warm wood floors, and sparingly furnished in black, white and grey tones. It is elegant in it’s simplicity. Marla Murati has all the listing details.
