We haven’t had a lot of nice days recently, so I was glad that the sun came out to shed some light on this British Properties estate the other day. The listing consists of an 8,000 square foot home plus a separate pool house, on a 3/4 acre view property. You and seven good friends could each have your own bedrooms for about $300,000. Do the math, or check out Leonard Diaz’s website for the full scoop.

Up in the Clouds

It might have been the overcast, drizzly weather, but this beautiful West Vancouver home reminded me of an eagle’s nest perched high in the upper branches of a tree. The back deck was stunning — giant Douglas Firs thrusting out through the floorboards, and a view that stretched out to – well- nothing, cause it was pouring rain. But the rain just added to the coziness of the interior. The main living area was completely dominated by a circular fireplace in the middle of the room. Polished hardwood was everywhere. Each room had huge windows overlooking the enormous trees on the deck. Truly one of a kind. John Jennings has all the details.

From this vantage point, you would never know that this beautiful old house is right at the corner of 16th and Burrard. I’ve driven by there a million times. Lorne Goldman has the details.

Southlands is the perfect location for the horse lover who still wants the conveniences of living in the big city. It’s about 15 minutes from downtown, but you’d never know it once you get down there. The neighbourhood runs along the Fraser River, and is populated by stately homes, hobby farms, and lots of stables. This home is a particularly nice example: relatively new, sitting on just under an acre of land, with its own stable. You have to supply the horses. Contact Penny Graham for more information.
